Anyone have a spare ECU for a 90 GSX? I think mine is fried and I hate to spend $300 on a rebuilt just to check! Or is anyone willing to try mine in their 90 AWD?

If all else fails try http://www.car-part.com and search there. I came up with this and it seems pretty reasonable.

Nice research skills Blood_Sun. I couldnt have done better myself.

OldGuy I have a 94 AWD and I know the ECU is different or maybe I could help you. I have a friend that has a 90 GS-T parts car. He may be able to help you if that ECU will work.

On another note...

How did you run 114 MPH with only a 13.0 E.T.?

I think Ive found the problem. The MPI relay (that click noise after you shut down the engine - 15 seconds later) shows an open circuit on one of the relays. To confirm though I cant get a replacement until Monday.

The 13.0 @ 114mph was a missed gear! I was also cutting out @5000rpm (bad spark plug gap) running off the battery (decaesed alternator) and the X-Fer case seized 4 miles from the track! Since then Ive made some upgrades and IF I can hook and hit the gears Im hoping for low 11s.

Clicks coming from under the dash are a tell tale sign of leaking caps in your ECU arent they?

They all click when you shut the car off.

Mine clicks too around 12 secs after shutdown. That is when my S-AFC shutsdown too.

The click you hear from the center console about seven seconds after you turn the engine off is the ECU power relay shutting off killing power to the ECU. I replaced this and unfortunately it did not solve the problem.

I have replaced the ECU with the Todd Day upgrades (sutter box launch RPMs etc.). The company which sold me this E-PROM ECU claims there is nothing wrong with it. I have chased down a lot of the wiring and I have not found any problems with my car either!
