weird speedometer problem
so i was driving down the highway this morning and i looked at my speedometer and the needle was at zero. but i was goin atleast 70 mph. it does it occasionally now, anyone have any idea what this could be from?
loose plug on the speedo sensor maybe, happened to me before, try to just push it down real quick. either that or the actual sensor is dead. but most likely the plug on the sensor just popped off. that would be the first thing to check though.

I had a similar problem in my old civic, but it would just bounce around during driving and after about 20 min or so, it would correct itself. Turned out to be the alternator, but it could be something totally different in your case.

yeah probably the speed sensor... if you dont know where it is, its located right behind the engine near the rear motor mount. it has a red or orange cap i think. you might have to remove the battery to get to it. it gets worked loose because of all the motor shaking. also, the clip on it can break easily, making it very easy to fall off.
the clip on mine broke and i had to silicone it down with RTV. let us know what happens.

98gsturbo, try hitting the top of your dash. its a good place to start, but that clip i mentioned earlier is very easy to get to and check, its not like a big job or anything. i hope it works out for you and turns out to be some dumb little thing.
