Location of Coolant Temp Sensor
Just as the title states....does anyone know the exact location of the "coolant temp sensor" (the one for engine control)......not to be confused with the "engine coolant temp gauge unit". I know the general location, but not sure which one it is, since there are a couple sensors down there.
My car's been having hard start issues. Car itself drives fine, it just has a hard time starting up. I have to crank it for a good while, 2-3 times, sometimes more, before the engine will finally fire up and run. I'm assuming the sensor has faulted out, causing the car to not get enough fuel at start up, since the car "thinks" the engine coolant is hot.
The car usually runs fine after that, but I have noticed that once in a while, when I'm driving and doing errands, the car will have a hard time starting again, and I literally have to sit there and wait 30-45 minutes, cranking it occasionally. Once the engine finally does fire up, you can smell really strong fuel fumes. The car runs just fine though, once the engine starts up.

i would just go and replace both of them since it is a 1997 and it is old
Yeah, that's true. Might as well since one of them is being replaced anyways. Hopefully it's the sensor that's causing the issue.
