Default Metal Shift Boot

Anyone ever heard of an Eclipse with a Lamborghini-styled shift boot? Apparently, the new Audi R8 will be doing something like this, too...

This is the shifter of the Audi R8.

This is the shifter for a '97 Lamborghini Diablo.

Hell, even the '71 Miura's had it!

So is it possible with a 2G Eclipse? Would it affect shift throws (if so, positively or negatively)?

I dont see how it would affect anything as far as shifting if you do it right.

You would have to custom make a shifter and the plate.

I think it would look cool if it was done right.

Only from first to second and third to fourth, unless I made the horizontal gap in the metal really wide...

Typically that's called a gated shifter, or shift gate, someone probably makes one already as a bolt on.

from what i can see, it looks like its shaved to allow quick 2nd to 3rd shifts. i'd rock one if they were premade and not $300
