91 eclipse dip stick issue

Default 91 eclipse dip stick issue

my dipstick keeps shooting out and geting oil all over the place the preaser isnt building up all that bad and i just replaced the ?pcv? valve thinking that that was it but its still shooting all over the place. any ideas?

Its blow by in the oil pan. It happens, mine used to do that before the rebuild and I would kink the dip stick right where the handle is. That way it would kinda wedge itself in there..

well i think he is saying your piston rings could be bad. if you bend the dipstick itself at the handle a few degrees it will hold better. I have also heard of people crimping the tube a little bit at the top.

Im not saying your rings are bad, im just saying you have some blow by in the oil pan which pushes your dip stick out.

My car did this too. I have a brand new motor and the car is in great condition. I think this is something that happens because of old age and the seal at the top of the dip stick gets bad. Just crimp the top a little with something and you will be good to go thats what I did.

there is a fix somewhere...I think it is on vfaq. Another common occurance. Mine would shoot out under high boost in the laser. I think I tied it down with
wire or something.

Did you remove your balance shafts and block off the oil holes? If you did, maybe you need to port the oil filter housing.

well i dont know if anything has been to the car cuz i just got it a little while back on a trade but the oil pan gasket does look pretty bad so ill be changing it when i get off work tomorrow but i got the dip stick tied down now and now it looks like the oil is trying to come from some where else its just hard to tell where cuz the whole thind is dirty and grimy as hell
