Default Turbo Intake Manifold vs Non Turbo Intake Manifold

Any difference between the two? I've searched and the only difference supposely are the fact that the non-turbo does not have a port for the bov line.

If I were to use the non-turbo manifold. Couldn't I just "T" off the vaccumm port that goes to the fpr? Or can I just use one of the ports on my throttle body? I've read you can also drill/tap and put a fitting for the bov line... but I don't want to do that.

Reason why I'm asking is because when I removed my intake manifold off the laser yesterday there is so much crude inside of the manifold. I mean a ton of it. My non-turbo manifold I had in storage seems to be in a lot better shape.

Unless someone has a turbo intake manifold they don't want and will give it away I'll use that. But I compared both manifolds and thats the only difference I see.

Wouldn't that only be good for as far as I can reach? I'm thinking about just cleaning it but from my perspective it looks like the runners are covered all the way to the openings.

They get like that. I've got a turbo manifold in the garage you can pick up for $20. I imagine it's just as dirty, though.
Maybe your manifold has more buildup than normal, but it doesn't sound like it. I'd just clean it.

Brake parts cleaner. Wire brush. Tooth brush. Scrub a lot, run a can or two of brake parts cleaner through. I was able to clean mine out pretty well. Be sure to dump the pcv and the valve cover breather to a catch can or atmosphere and block off the EGR if you want it to stay clean. Might want to clean the intercooler (gasoline) and make sure your turbo isn't blowing oil too.

Thanks for all the advice. I'm going to try cleaning it. I was definately planning of not dumping the pcv hose back into the intake manifold nor the other line going into the intake tube. I would like to try to avoid most of this mess to not have to do it for a while lol.

Does anyone know of a good way to remove old stuck gaskets? I peeled good chunks off but there's the stubborn ones that are as stuck as someone crazy glueing two t-shirts together.

I hope when this is all said and done I have no leaks around the intake manifold because to me being my first time taking one off with the engine in the car... it was a pain.

Brake Parts Cleaner is awesome! To be honest I've never used it and I was amazed on what the cleaner does and with a wire brush the inside of the manifold came out awesome, almost looks like new. Thanks for the advice everyone!
