Default Tranny question

Alright, 2nd gear in my GST acts alittle weird, The guy I got it from told me that the cables just needed to be adjusted, if thats true or not I dunno, doubt it..Anyway, when your in 1st and goto shift to 2nd under 3k rpm's it shifts in fine...But if you go over like 3500 it'll grind into second, I noticed if you do take it high, push the clutch in, wait about a second or two then shift while the rpms drop it wont grind. What would the problem be?

you could try a clutch adjustment, it could be not be COMPLETELY disenguaging. try to twist the rod on the pedal toward the master cylinder a little bit
