1. alright when i start the car if it has been sitting for more than an hour the car will idle fine but as soon as i give it gas it feels like it wants to die, it happens for about 60 seconds, after that , its fine.

2. also my gas mileage sucks probably 16mpg. i'm not driving the car hard at all. the car has 185k on the motor but it was driven by an older lady
and was serviced every 30,000 miles.

i dont know about the idling problem, mine acts like that too. gas mileage could be lots of things. is your car throwing a CEL?

 

the check engine light has been on since i baught the car last week

 

You need to find out the CEL trouble code(s). The check engine light is on for some reason and you need to find out why. Don't know too much about 2g GST/GSX but is 95 OBDII if so you can go to Advance/Discount auto parts and have them scan the code(s) to see what it comes up with.

 

yea its a obd2. they will try to tell you its not obd2 but it is. that would be the first step.
