Alright I just got a Tanabe Exhaust.

Right now on my car i have a 3" Megan Downpipe...but the exhaust opening is 2.5" and then opens up to 3"...

so will i lose power or are there any negative effects if i bolt the 2.5" opening of the exhaust to the 3" opening of the downpipe??

 

That is how most after market kits are made, so they will match up with the stock cat portion of your exhaust. Take my Greddy for example, it has a 6" long 2 and 1/2" to 3" adapter that bolts on at the cat end. I dont think you will lose enough to worry about it but you could always have a straight 3" piece fabricated for you.

Dont worry about the match up I have the same thing going on Ive never wanted to bother with the cutting and welding involved.

 

^ yea i bought it...i needed one really bad. open downpipe is friggin loud as hell...actually on the way to jerry's house me and this truck had a lil contest..who's car would sound "truckier" LMAO..and yea mine was louder

So i guess i should be fine with the 2.5inch opening...i'm just thinking that i wouldn't see the "full potential" of the whole exhaust from downpipe on
