Default Gear Oil

What kind of oil do you guys use for the trannys in your DSMs? Usually in most my cars I'll use a lucas 85/140 gear oil..Whats reccomended for my 91 gst?

get some royal purple synthetic. redline gear synthetic is also good. i run synchromesh, but ive heard it doesnt offer protection, so i recently put in a mix of synchromesh, royal purple, and redline haha franken gear oil....supposedly royal purple is the best, thats what jerry reccomends. just dont get GL-5 oil.

redline shock proof heavy weight gear oil!!!!

i use it in my datsun 280zx n/a trannys and they are the weakest trannys i have ever seen!!!!! and if it wasnt for that gear oil i would blow a tranny evey time i launched the damn car.
now i blow them up every month or 2

I've used Pennzoil synchromesh with a mix of redline shock proof heavy weight gear oil

You can get Pennzoil synchromesh at Advanced auto, it's like $7 a quart.

I need to change my gear oil. I've never changed it before, how do you change gear oil?
