Default tires?

well i happened to go to the track thurs. (bradenton) to see wat my car could do. well i ran some bad times, all the car would do is spin and wheel hop 1st thru all of 2nd gear, i guess thats wat i get for buying a gst, lol. so im going to buy some stock gst wheels and buy some drag radials for them, also a lsd. i heard the nitto 555r's are a really good tire for the track? wat kind or tires do some of u guys use?

just dont get an lsd insert. the best tires to get are the mickey thompsons, but i dont know if you can get any that fit on a stock gst rim. nittos would be my second choice.

The track was very slippery that night. It has a fresh surface on it.
If you are looking for tires to use at the track then get slicks.

yea but you would start breaking stuff easier. you need to get rid of the wheelhop first of all, get some polyurethane motormounts and possibly control arm bushings if that doesnt help. if you wheelhop youre gonna break something and you cant control it...get the new mounts so you can control the wheelspin better.

Incorrect.
Slicks have soft side walls that allow for more give and less wheel hop.
Slicks were designed to spin while still pulling the car foward with out hopping around trying to find traction.

lol, well i have the polyurethane inserts, and k sport coilovers, i stiffened the rears, softened the fronts, and lowered the tire press. and it still hopped, why should i not get an lsd? and i dont want to take chances with the slicks, so i think i am going 2 go with the nitto's. thanx for all of the feed back.

i never said dont get an lsd, i said dont get an lsd insert. buy a real one, i learned that along with lots of others. if you want somethin you can use on the street too nittos are good. the mickey thompsons would be the best pick for dragradials, but i think the nittos are a good choice too.

lsd isn't going to help with wheel hop. I'd go through all your suspension bushings, if they are old replace them with poly. That made a huge difference in every wrong wheel drive car I've owned
