Default Problem

My starter went out on me Saturday, and I was finally able to replace it today. After replacing it, I started it up and got a loud sound coming from the engine. This is the video of the noise: Video - engine sound

Tried re-installing it again and it does the same. The rpm are high (1500) and stay that way (I don't run it more than a few seconds since I don't know what it is and dont want to damage anything).

It didn't make this noise before the starter went out and now that I put the new one in, it's making the noise.

before you start teariing apart the front cover to get the balance shafts out, are you sure you checked the backing plate so its not hitting the flywheel? have you removed it completely to see if its hiiting somewhere you cant tell? are you sure there wasnt any kinds of noise before you replaced the starter?

The only noise before changing the starter was a click type noise and slow starting (sometimes no starting for a few seconds) so a guy at my job (I work at a car dealership) told me that it sounded like the solenoid on the starter. Saturday morning I went to start it and it wanted to start but for some reason kept shutting itself off not to start.

I just put the old starter back in and it starts right up with the same noise. I let the car run to see where the sound was coming from and it sounds like it's coming from the timing belt side. Had a friend come over and he said it sounded like the valves but wasn't sure.

LIKE we said we had a car here with the same exact sound and the balance shaft that went out was the oil pump one
