help with power locks!

Default help with power locks!

i have a 98 eclipse GS. it has the power locks however never worked. recently i noticed that when i hit the lock button it clicks under the dash like behind the radio. i called mitsu. and they couldnt find any relay back there in there books. but they said that dosent mean it dosent exist.

anyone have an idea if this could be my problem. and if some has had this problem b4 LMK how to fix it THANKS.

You have the power door lock curse. My car and many others have suffered from it. My locks started acting funny and sometimes I would get locked in my car or I would lock one door and the opposite door would open and so on. Sometimes they would lock sometimes they would unlock. Yours are probably cursed just like mine and many others. I tried replacing the fuse and other stuff but still have had the problem. The best thing to do instead of trying to figure it out is to live without power locks... take the fuse out and presto manual door locks. I hate it but got used to it.

there should be a relay behind the radio on the drivers side. almost directly under the radio. black. attached to the floor board.

any idea if one without power locks would have it anyways? my boy is parting one out without power locks and i dont wanna start takeing out the radio and dash if its not gonna be there. thanks guys!

if it clicks it prolly works. if you know any one that installs alarms then they sould be able to trace down the problem or stop by lakeland circuit city and ask for matt, i work nights.
