Default 6bolt in a 2g question

ok so i have my 6 bolt in the engine bay and i just noticed that on my 7 bolt th radiator cap is on the thermastt housing and on my 6 bolt there isnt a radiator cap, does anyone know if i have to switch to a 1g radiator(if they have cap on radiator) or different year 6 bolt thermastat housing has a radiator cap, because my 7 bolt thermastat housing will not bolt up to the 6 bolts thermastat housing placement on the head.

It sounds like you have a JDM 6-bolt or one out of a VR-4...

Im pretty sure you can swap the thermostat housing...
