Need so help/info
Guess it was only a matter of time. Car was running good for too long, guess my time was up. Leave the house this morning and alittle ways down the street I start to hear a ticking sound. The car starts running funny, not accelerating right and ruff when shifting. I pull over and pop the hood, noise is getting really loud at this point. I listen and it's coming from the side of the block. Don't know what it is but I know it's bad.
Pulled the spark wire off to check for oil but there was none. Car got towed back to the house. Probably can be anything buy any input besides crankwalk would be appreciated.
By the time I finished looking under the hook, it went from a ticking to a knocking then shut off. Won't start.
Mobile mechanic might be needed.

sounds like it could be rod knock, although ive had lifters sound like rodknock before. get a vid of it, its too hard to say over the computer. it could be a number of things, something coming loose, broken, etc.

damn bro, from the way your discribing it seems to be rodknock. but get some sort of video of it so we can try to hear it. same shit happened to my boys evo. just kept acting funny, then like 10 min after, boom, died out then wouldnt start again. and some loud as knockin .. good luck ;/

I got a vid on my cell phone of her being towed away. I'll see what I can do. She won't start now so you won't hear the knocking noise. I also though when I first heard it that it was a rod knock.

like it doesnt start as in, it wont turn? or can turn but doesnt run? it really might be a seized bearing? you have an oil pressure guage that works? try and turn the crank with a breaker bar and check your valvetrain, not sure what else to tell you, but it sounds like my problem, started hearing a knocking noise, got louder and the car turned off and wouldnt start. my crank like melted onto the rod.

I'm at work but when I left this morning, she would turn but not start. I do remember before she died that she would be on for about 5sec then dead. I'd started for 5min then dead. Now she turns but not start, I'll see what's up when I get home.
