Default heat issues

before i get my car back from brothers again, i wanted to see what some common problems with the heat are with the 2g's (gst).. my heat does not work in the car, blows really cold air, but when i move the knob to heat, even after waiting for a long time the temperature of the air hardly changes if any at all.. what should be a few things i need to check first.. i dont know if this matters or not but, im missing the cap that goes over one of the a/c lines seen here... http://members.shaw.ca/dsm.1000q/Eng.../2G/acline.htm - its the one circled in blue.. thx in advance for help

2g's are wierd. If I turn it to hot and have it to defog my windows (front windshield, side windows, through the regular AC vents its blowing out cold air low just like a cold breeze while the vent on the dash and on top of the door panel are blowing hot air. Strange... I don't know why it does it.

Check you heater switch fuse. Don't even know if our cars have one. I just know some cars have a fuse for the heater. Heater relay switch or something towards that effect. I don't recall if 2g's have them or not.
