Whoa... don't try to do this yourself if you don't know or have a clue on what your doing. I've taken off egr systems left and right and its fairly simple actually a breeze. As far as the plate is concern I usually just put some high temp silicon sealant and put it on and wait till it ahere's good. There's a lot of vacuum lines you can eliminate but none fuel related. Anything fuel related does not get capped off... fpr line, etc. There's also selonoids you eliminate as well.

When you remove the egr valve there is a gasket. Just reuse it with the block off plate. As for vacuum lines. You should get rid of all of them except one from the intake to the fpr. Intake to the bov, intake to the pcv valve and intake to the brake booster. If you have a boost controller you will need one to go to it. You T off off the one going to th bov for the boost controller.
All the vacuum nipples on the throttle body will need to be capped off.

Well depending on how old the gasket is and how worn it is you can't really re-use it. You can go to the autoparts store and pick up a new one but a high temp sealant works as well if you have it laying around. Most egr gaskets I've ran into I was not able to re-use the gasket and even if it were still usable I wouldn't use it. Its better to buy a new one or use high temp sealant. I wouldn't re-use a gasket on anything.

Any benefits to the EGR blockoff plate and eliminating the vaccum lines?

Here's info on it... quoted from my friend Dave...

He's talking about removing the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve. The valve recirculates some of the hot exhaust gases back into the intake manifold to be reburned to clean up emissions. If you remove it you wont have that hot exhaust gas going back through you intake making colder air in the intake manifold which is always a plus.

Warning though this isnt really a feel it in the seat of the pants mod. So dont plan on doing it and think your gonig to gain some 20+ hp, may be 2-5 hp at the very most.

thanks for your inputs but I'm still confused about the line that comes from the gas tank to the canister since i don't have one no more. i believe this line is use to release extra pressure and fumes of the gas tank.

Is this the line up against the firewall? It goes from a skinny rubber hose to the skinny metal line off the canister? If so cap it off. All the lines from the canister get eliminated or capped off. You can trash that heavy pos canister.
