Default Problem's yet again

So on my way to work this morning, car starts alittle funny. I look at my safc and my battery voltage is low. Right before I get to work I noticed I was starting to overheat, voltage real low and when i turned the wheel the battary and oil light would come on also no powersteering. I changed the belt like a month ago. Question is does it sound like a bad alternator or a bad pully. Did look at the pully a it wiggles but very very little. Sat in the parking lot not moving and very time I turn the wheel everything would light up. Any info?

O yea, even the new belt would sqeek.

if the belt is squeeling then its slipping. tighten it up and charge your batt. should fix everything. make sure all your tentioners are nice and tight. your first step should be to fix the belt, if the no charging issue continues then change the alt. but not having power steering seem like the belt is slipping and not turning the accesories.

what brand of belt is it? if its a cheep autozone/advanced belt, they are going to stretch in a bout a month and then you gotta re adjust em so it REALY seems like all you gotta do is tighten the belt.

I agree with dsmdreamer, I had this problem a few months ago with my old eclipse. I ended up tightening the belt tensioner...I didn't overheat though. Just sqealing belt and no power steering.

I've been thru a dozen belts, Autozone and better quality. They always seem to stretch so deffinitly watch it closely.

Your harmonic balancer may be separating. That would explain why the car is getting hot, and the alternaor is not charging.

I hope it's not my harmonic balancer cause that's $132.32 from the dealer minus labor. That would explain the overheating though. Thanks lanceman rep away.
