Default Question on turbo Eclipse ECU's

Looking into getting a 91 turbo AWD Eclipse. Needs a ECU. At the moment it has a 90 ECU in it.(I guess its not working right.) I was told by the owner a 91 is needed. Does the ECU have to be from a AWD or can it be from a FWD and can the ECU from 92-94 be used?
Thanks....

AWD/FWD, 91-94, none of it really matters. The differences are minor. You should be able to get the 90 ecu working by doing some minor wiring work, though.

also, a/t or manual makes no difference either.
