Default Help Plz

ok my friend has a 98 rs eclipse that is bone stock. i changed the spark plugs(gap.050) and valve cover gasket. now the car turns over for like 10 seconds before it actually starts. and now his mom is havin a corinary becuz it didnt do it before i changed the plugs. i thought it might be the coil so we got a nem one and thet wasnt the problem. does anyone haver a suggestion to what it might be?????????

re-check gap , make sure all plugs are secure. how does it idle ? how old are the wires ? lmk

once the car starts it runs like a dream. the wires are fairly new msd 8.5mm like the only thing not stock) and i checked the gap 3 times

Make sure you hear or feel a "click" when pushing the spark plug wires into the spark plugs and coil pack. Thats how you know its all connected correctly.

Do this...

Disconnect the (-) negative battery terminal off the battery. Leave it disconnected a good 20 minutes. This should reset everything including the ecu.

Connect the terminal back then start the car. The car will shut off. Then start it up again and let it run. See if that works out.

But it does eventually start? Long crank time is usually a problem with the fuel pump. Or since you where in around the valve cover area you by any chance do anything to the cam sensor?
