Default What kind of turbo is this?

My car is smoking white smoke, and it smells like oil, plus I have an oil leak from the pan. The car seems to run fine and smooth but when im flooring it, the turbo sounds like its cutting in and out. I was putting on an FMIC yestereday with Damon from Twin Cam and there was oil in the pipes and in the turbo. Could this be why my car is smoking. I hope its not piston rings or a head gasket? What should I do? If it is the turbo, would this be a good replacement? Your input please.

I cant tell what the second to last number on it is to identify it, but I will say that is not a direct bolt on. It might be a turbo from a conquest/starion but I cant be too sure which car its from.

I would look for other means of a replacement. Maybe another T25 if you dont plan to mod your car anytime soon, but thats my .02 worth.

Lemme take a better pic, I dont think its from a GST because the o2 housing doesnt look like it would bolt up to the compressor.

Your not going to have oil in the compressor housing from a headgasket or piston rings.... That would make your car smoke.

The second picture reads 49178-01740 S, I got this turbo from my friend. Yesterday when I pulled the intake off, there was a little bit of oil in the turbo and when I ran my finger around every pipe and there was oil on my finger. Anyone had a similar problem like this before?

I cant tell from the size, it almost looks like its from from a diesle truck.

It has the twin blades like an evo 3, but that oil line ive never seen before, not on a dsm anyhow.

Somewhere on dsmtuners is a chart with every mitsu turbo vin number fro cross refferencing

edit...part number is for a TDo5-10A, im trying to find out what it is from. It looks close to and 16G.

I think the conquest was a tdo5-12A

its a quest 12a turbo. looks like a nonintercooled model because of the outlet angle and munchkin housing.
