First off im new to the whole DSM scene, i bought the car with a major boost leak somewhere and i cant seem to find where it was at. When I drive you can hear the turbo spool up nice and fast but the car doesnt go anywhere.. Then at 5k RPM it picks up for a second then lags again. Only time I can hear the BOV is when im in a tunnel or somewhere that really reflects the sound.. Naturally I thoguht it was the pos stock 2g bov, but not knowing the difference between the 1g bov and 2g bov i just ordered a greddy type rs w/ recir. Well comes to find out I have a 1g bov on my car already and now im getting worried that its not the bov thats leaking boost. From what I have read and heard everyone praises the 1g bov for holding its boost and working real well. Is there any other things I can check that any of you guys know of? I know, I really need a boost gauge, if anyone has a cheap one lmk i dont feel like ordering one off ebay and waiting 2 weeks for it, nor spending 100 dollars for one in a shop around here. What mods do you have?

 

go to auto zone and get a boost gauge for around 60$

 

small 16g catback exhaust 1g bov- all that i know of
wasnt aware auto zone sold gauges.. i might go pick one up..

 

wow, i was looking under the hood today, looking for leaks again and i was following the IC piping from the side mount to the bov. tell me, is the piping supposed to be the same diameter all the way around from the bov to the side mount? i was looking at the piping on this car, right where the piping goes under the airbox all the way to where it exits to the wheel well the plastic piping has been bent to fit that little section. it looks like about a 1 inch square diameter.
