oil cooler
my oil filter housing has no place to connect coolant lines to and i dont have an external oil cooler. is this ok?

I don't see why its not okay. The engine that was swapped in the TSI I had was from a 90 which ran the air oil cooler. I didn't run it, I sealed off where you would connect the lines to the filter housing.
I guess everyone has there theory on this. Never had any problems though.

oil temps are 30-50 hotter without an oil cooler. oil does have a part in cooling the motor as well as water. fine for a drag car not to have one since the block never gets that hot. silly for a streetcar to not have one. have you seen the size of the evo 8 coolers? hint: the new 7 bolt for the yellow car is being treated with one.

I think you would need a 90 oil filter housing, then running an oil cooler would not be a problem.
