Boost Control Solenoid

I have a dumb question I been waiting to ask, you know the boost control solenoid under next to the Coolant resorvoir, I got a new turbo but I dont know if I can disconnect it for the electrical connections or not?...I havent trowed it away yet...but someone let me know before I do

Its a cheap way to get a few psi after you remove it.
