different people say different things. From my own experience, I will say it will take a lot of patience to boost a 420A. Most of it is all bolt on but the tricky part comes when you have to tune it. Getting the right fuel ratio is a bitch sometimes. Also on stock internals, you can only run safely between 8-10 psi. Some have had luck going up to 12 - 13psi, others have blown the motor up at 11 psi. Good thing is that there are starting to have a lot of rebuild options at a relatively fair price such as from Howell Automotive and other places. Once the rebuild is done, you can definately run higher boost.
Anyway, the bottom line:
1) Swapping the 420A with a 4G63 is possible but expensive
2) buying a GST will give you immediate results due to the motor being naturally aspirated vs the N/A
3) Boosting the 420A can be a lot of fun when its done with but getting there you have to be patient.
well if u had fun working on ur friends srt4 the 420a is kinda in the same category....a neon motor( yes i know its not exactly a neon motor cause the exhaust and manifold are backwards for u technical mofo's lol)
as for the bottle....put it behind the back seats in the hatch...
or check out the link i posted on ur last thread and do what u wanna do

spray that shit , i have had a 420a turbo and for the money it cost to do it , you are better off spraying it. just take the bottle out when you are not running, boosting the 420a is fun but expensive and very , very in need of maitinence.
spray it..... high compression loves spray not boost

As long as you tune properly, high compression loves boost as well
. My old car was gutted like a mofo and i ran 10 psi and it was a very fun daily and pretty quick car. It also lasted a pretty long time considering it was untuned. I blew the stock motor because i spiked 16 psi since i hooked up my evc ez incorrectly.

Ah yes boost.... its in my plans. I keep going back and fourth between that and the bottle but everytime I see someone's 420a turbo and I'm ahhhh turbo. Project car is looking good. Keep up the good work. 97-99 is the same as far as headlights, front bumper, etc.
Didn't someone put a thread in here about some guys putting an evo motor in an RS/GS from DSMTALK.COM. Something about how the mounts line up to the engine bay chassis and the brakes swap and all that other good stuff. Look into that!
