another dsm
alright i need some opinions guys.... my fiance has a 95 talon...its rusted out, slightly banged up...but runs great, the interior is mint...
but because of all the rust i felt it wasn't too safe...so i found a very riced out 95 eclipse power nothing z3 fenders blitz kit coffee can exhaust short ram cheepo intake...but the body is clean but the interior is crapy... so i am switching the interior from one car to another... i would like the eclipse to be a nice lil car for her...so here is where i need some help....
1) am i gonna run into any problems switch out the doors with power windows or should i just gut them???
2) should i go through one motor and turbo it or just buy a turbo motor????
3) am i in over my head????

Sounds like the Talon has the 420a engine which is non-turbo. A turbo motor 4g63t would be too complicated to swap and too much money is involved. Never done a manual to power conversion but this to me sounds complicated as well.
I say work with what you have. Meaning switch interiors and work on what you have after that. Is the original Talon you have turbo?

negative...both are na.... i have done motor swaps actually about 5 a few hondas and a few fords but never a dsm...if i were to do the turbo swap i would get the whole swap motor tranny etc

Mitsubishi's/DSM's are nothing like Honda's or Ford's when it comes down to swapping engine's. Hence why it doesn't occur as often. You would need engine, tranny, ecu, wiring harness and all the misc things inbetween. Not to mention custom brackets, welding, etc. is involved. The 420a engine faces the opposite direction. If you want turbo I would suggest boosting the 420a. It would be a lot easier then trying to do a 420a to 4g63t swap.

4g63T's and 420A's are not easily interchangeable nor financially feasable. Your best bet if you want to turbo one of the motors,
1) check the compression, make sure the motor can handle some boost
2) do some research on fuel system upgrades
3) Don't half ass it. A lot of people who attempt to boost 420A's quit because its more involved that just bolting on the kit. Patience and precise tuning is required to boost this motor.
Since you have 2 there, use one as a guinea pig. Boost the shit out of it and get your tuning the way you want it. If you blow it up, you have another.

alright so we established the swap isn't the greats idea so... lets start getting into turboing this motor...i'm not looking for rediculously fast just fast enough to get out of its own way...mind you i'm just to the power of a stout srt4 and my saleen... i'm not expecting anything like that...
