Question Eclipse Malfunction

So, this couple comes to look at my house today, and when they come in, the guy says, "hey, your brake lights are on!"
I go check it out, they won't turn off. So I get under the dash to look at the switch; the way it's set up, when the brake pedal is at it's normal resting place, it holds the button on the switch down (meaning lights are off). While I'm down there I move this little blue piece of plastic that is digging into my shoulder and throw it out in the grass. I look back at the pedal, and there is a hole for the button to go through, meaning lights are on all the time. It then dawns on me, something should be there to stop it, right??
Meanwhile, I get out to think about what I will put there to cover the hole, and I see little blue pieces of plastic, then I'm like mother fucker, told my wife to get the blue disc, yeah, that disc goes into that hole....why not just leave the pedal solid??

Anyway, a penny and some electrical tape are a quick fix to this, sorry for the long story, but it will help if you are curious about why the hell your brake lights won't turn off. LOL

haha, a penny and some electrical tape!

I had that button go out on my car. The switch wouldn't come back out so the lights would stay on. PITA.

Ha, funny thing is I'm a lazy and broke bitch so I reinforced the penny with some superglue; but hey, it's been like 3 days or whatever and it's still there.

Get a nut and a bolt. Put the bolt through the hole, and then put the nut tight on the bolt and call it a day.
