Default The importance of not going cheap on a dsm

Myself as middle class society likes to save a buck or two when it comes to just about anything...i know that shouldnt be the case when it comes to our car but when something looks like its up to the task and ur saving a buck...it cant be helped to act on that notion...

now the point of this story is that i purchased a fuel pressure regulator on ebay from a well respected company called obx...anyway i bought this fpr for 100...it cam with the guage and everything else...i have it sitting around and i finally go and puy the fittings and hoses today to have dave install it for me...but come to find out i realize it doesnt have a vaccum line...im like, wtf?so jerry does me the favor by tapping in a vaccum fitting in so we can put the vaccum line on it...we install and everything is going smooth next thing you know...my car doesnt wanna run and fuel is going everywhere...it appears the diaphragm was destroyed after one usage, lmao...talk about ebay bullshit...im not really made because its my faul for not paying a little more and getting a aeromotive one...but here are some pics of....the only thing good about this fpr is...well the only thing good about it is the gauge,

Wow that sucks. They do look nice on ebay. Just didn't think they were that cheap especially for $100. There's no chance in just making another diaphram or getting another one and putting back together? It could just be a manufacturer defect.

Fernando, I gave you advice on what to get BEFORE you started modding your car. Did you forget? I told you all the supporting mods to use when I was telling you about the 16g setup. This was a long ass time ago when I gave you the advice and you probably dont remember. I told you to either get the bolt on Charged-air FPR or the Aeromotive kit.

What happened happened. Its too late now. Im sorry that it happened. Hopefully, everything works out.

anyways, I wouldnt think a $100 FPR is really that cheap. Ive seen them on Ebay for waay less.

Almost as bad as those knockoff Ebay turbos that are real cheap.
