Default Suggestions for my future setup...

Well the time has come to to finally upgrade the tiny little turbo that could...My t-25...I've been doing alot of asking around from the brothers, dario, john, and a few others and this is what I've come up with...I just want everyone else's thoughts if I should go a different route, different turbo, etc etc etc...

For the record the car has a (from what I was told when I bought the car) stock original 7bolt motor...(Lets only hope)...Has 97k..mods so far are as follow...
greddy evo2 cat back exhaust, megan racing downpipe, walbro 255,turbo xs manual boost controller, greddy type rs bov, both top strut bar and both bottom ones,k&n filter with polished intake pipe, custom ic pipping and unkown name brand fmic 24x12x3 i believe are the dimensions

Fuel management- I was planning on going with the Safc2 and a aem wideband...
fuel delivery I already have my walbro 255 but I have yet to do the re-wire.With that i have a obx fuel pressure regulator getting fitted but if for some reason this fpr doesnt hold pressure I'm going to stop being cheap and just get the aeromotive fpr.ohh and 780cc injectors

drivetrain-2600 act clutch kit (disc, pressure plate, throw out bearing) and maybe a fidanza flywheel, but unsure on the flywheel cause ive heard bad news about them.

hks 264/272 cams and hks cam gears

slap on a tial 38mm external wastegate onto the o2 and either a 50 trim ball bearing, 57 trim, or gt30r....
-All this will be purchased within the next month or so thanks to some funds coming in provided by the us government

Let the bashing begin

your going from a t-25 to a gt30r I was completely happy with my ported clipped evo 3 which will be what I recomend along with a 2100 seeing as it is a stock 7 bolt there is no need to really put all that pressure on that thrust bearing....

Agree with the 2100 PP. 2600 will just increase the chance of your crank walking out the block.

What are your power goals? GT30R is a pretty damn big turbo and you would need some serious mods to run that thing to its full potential. Is your car a GS-T or GSX? The Evo III 16G will more than do the job for 80-90% of the DSM community.

Has the thought of strengthening your internals even crossed your mind? If you don't plan on cracking the block open, the GT30R would be a waste, since you wouldn't be able to boost it hard. The Evo III is perfect for our stock blocks, and even running that turbo at its full potential, is teetering on the edge of what our stock blocks can handle. Stepping up to a MAF Translator/GM Maf would be a good combo (roughly $80 more new, than the SAFC2, but performs the same function as the SAFC2, plus giving you much less restriction over the stock MAS).

Getting ready to play are we??

There will always be great controversy on what turbo setup to run on any car so its almost pointless to ask. You have to decide on your hp and time goals and take it from there.
But as far as my opinion, go with anything BB whether it be the 30R or a BB 50trim you cant beat the response not even with a stick!

Bagabones- I stepped up from a t-25 to the 30R in one drastic jump with no problems or setbacks Not being able to run more than 22 psi for the moment kinda sucks but those 22 pounds of air feel awesome.
PS I have a 2600 on my bone stock 7 bolt, No problems yet...

I dont think he would be ready for AEM...

Get an EPROM and DSMlink and youll be good. The 2600/2100 debate is hit or miss, if you are FWD most would recommend a 2100. As for the turbo, anything bigger than the t2small will be awsome. If I had the money I would definetely go BB as Dario has said.

Goodluck with it, just keep in mind, its all in the tune.

the frist thing i would do is change that 7 to a 6 bolt(you 2 dustin) then go with a 30r with the dsmlink or megasquirt for a fms.

btw what are your goals?????

Hey everyone thanks for the feedback....This might sound unoriginal but I base most of my goals off of a mix between the brothers old 57 trim setup and the current setup dario has...My goals will be closer to 400hp...and yes everyone it is a gst and not a gsx...but that will change as soon as i find a donor gm maf i was thinking of getting with the safc2 but then again i was told that there have been many dsm's well in the 400hp range with their stock maf with no problem....so i'm going to go off that...and i already have some money stashed away for my crankwalk foundation(50 bucks every paycheck for a 6 bolt)....I really dont wanna settle for a mitsu turbo....i just wanna go big or go home...
