BOV venting question
Maybe somebody can explain this to me. When i take the dump tube off my 1G to vent.( I know its bad but, call me ricey, i like loud BOVs) It stalls when i put the clutch in. I know all about why it happens and i do recirculate but Fernando's (2ndGenDsm) 97 GS-T vents and has no problem at all with stalling or anything like that. Could it be because of his intercooler piping set up? he has a FMIC with custom piping and a GReddy RS BOV. I have the stock side mount with hard piping and a 1G BOV. Why can he vent with no problems and i stall almost everytime i vent? Could it be the BOV?

Its a lot of factors...
Sometimes the ECU doesnt mind it and other tiems it does. Also it could deal with the spring in the BOV and the size of the piping. I vented my 1g BOV with a SBR FMIC and piping with no problems. After going back to the stock IC set up it idles rouch and stalls every now and again.
If you must vent, do it right and get a GM MAF or standalone. Or you could just recirculate it

He has a 2g... and its not true. Any MAF before the turbo that recirculates *should* cause teh car to run like crap. Its accounting for metered air that doesnt return, there is no denying that. Why certain cars can run w/o recirculating is besides me. Its just luck of the draw I guess.

Very true.
As for the GM MAF here is one write up

I do not have much experience with it but those are 2 things I got from doing a quick search.
