Default good street/strip clutch

I need a new one

from a dig the other night me and my boy were running a car and I guess it was too much traction and the fucker clean revved off the rev limiter w/o spinning the tires once

now in 3rd gear if it gets into boost and I give it about 1/2 throtttle it just revs out and bouces off the rev limiter ...

I'm assuming its clutch... what would everybody reccomend?

how expensive/hard is this to do?

All depends on how much power you are (or plan on) putting down and how often you plan to "race" the car.

ACT makes really good clutch kits. Go with a 2600 series if you are going to do alot of drag and stop light racing. If you just do the occasional drag strip/stop light race and are putting down relatively low hp figures, the 2100 series clutch will better suit you.

Slow Boy Racing also has really nice clutch kits. www.slowboyracing.com

As far as replacing the clutch, the 2G tranny is a bitch to pull, but some of the guys hear will do it for a reasonable price. PM either "Brothers" or "Lancerman" about getting your clutch replaced, if you don't feel too comfortable doing it. Labor is around $300-350 with them I believe, not including parts. Still cheaper than any shop, by far, not to mention, the attention to detail these guys have, when it comes to working on cars.

I wouldnt touch that slowboy crap.
Seeing as you have a fwd I would get a ACT 2100 with street disk and a ACT street lite flywheel.

How much hp are you making?

what about a EVO clutch?//

would that work or is that only for a FWD application?

I want it to hold 350whp reliably..

pedal firmness or a clutch being touchy is not a problem for me.

I was told a 2100 came from the factory

I got a budget of 500$ to spend, btw fwd car 2g

I got solid motor mounts and drag radials and I launch/race my car regularly

as my car sits it probably only makes 230whp

I'd like a clutch that I can install and not really have to worry about

I plan on making atleast 350whp

where can I buy a nice 2600 used? or does somebody around here have one?

what all is needed to replace all this? I'd like to have a shop to do it, I'm not comfortable doing it myself and I dont want to mess anything up

Who ever told you that is a idiot.
A 2100 is what you need. I wouldnt put the extra pressure on the 7 bolt crank if it isnt needed. And at 350hp its not needed.
Just get a 2100. And be done with it.
Just have Jerry do it.

I want a stout clutch..

not questioning you but are you sure a 2100 is enough?
