Some questions about fuel, igtition and valve timing.. please help me
I replaced the head on my 92 TSI and I have some questions. I have a 1990 eclipse cam sensor, will it work on my 92 TSI. The plugs are different but both have 4 wires. Can not having the cam sensor stop fuel delivery?. The exhaust camshaft is 20 degrees off and I was wondering if the car would start at all. If anyone knows those questions let me know, thanks.

The '90 Cam Angle Sensor will not work.
The car will not run without the cam angle sensor.
I'm not sure, so how many teeth on the camshaft is 20 degress - that seems like an awful lot. But, I've never had an urge to f*ck with the cam timing on a DSM (my understanding is it's hardly beneficial and only necessary if you have poorly cut aftermarket cams).

Oh. Well, you might want to set it back. I'm discovering all sorts of things I'm unsure of through this thread, as I now realize I'm unsure of the number of teeth an exhaust cam would have to move (with the number one piston at TDC) for the valves to hit the pistons. If the valves aren't bent now, the car's still going to run like sh*t (most likely fall on its face unless you keep the throttle open) .
Incidentally, I have a few '91-'94 style CAS if you need one.
