dsm problems

Default dsm problems

i just got a 1st gen talon turbo but the car sounds like it riding on one cylinder almost like if it had lack of spark what can it be?????? thanks need help

To start with throw some new spark plugs in just for the heck of it. NGK BPR6ES if you're close to stock.

Pull the plug wires one by one and see which one isn't firing properly. Pull that one at the coil pack and see if it sparks to the wire when you hold it close to the coil. If it does, replace the spark plug wires and see if that fixes it.

If you're not getting spark from the coil, you may have a bad coil pack or a bad power transistor, which is close to the coil pack and has a long flat connector in it.

thanks for the info but it is getting spark and fuel... my timing belt is kinda lose

i just found out that is not getting spark or fuel in piston 2,3 but the car is not smoking or nocking.... need help.

What did you do to get so much bad rep?

How do you know its not getting fuel? how did you test for it? how did you test for spark?

well about that rep i think is from the honda people i was talking shit to them lol...... but yea my friend check it and it is getting spark no fuel cuz..this is how i check i unplug 2,3 and it does'nt make the car do notting + is running lean

If that's how you checked for spark, then it is likely that you're wrong, insomuch as that method ignores a couple of other seemingly obvious and definitely better ways to check for spark, and thus you're likely also not very qualified to infer conditions of an automobile.

im getting spark ...........................no no fuel in piston 2 an 3 .... would the nock sensor make the feel like is running on 3 cylinders?

Using a logging tool to log your exact RPM, pull the injector wires for the suspected cylinders. If it makes absolutely no change in rpm then take off the fuel rail switch out the bad ones for either a known good one from a seperate car, or swap a known good one from a differant cylinder then try again. If it's the injectors the problem should switch cylinders following that particular injector.
Come back with your results of that test. If it is indeed a fuel problem, we can then help you more.

If it's not getting fuel in cylinders 2 and 3, why do you ask how the knock sensor would make it feel on only 3 cylinders?

i found out what the problem was it was the coil pack and the spark cables........ dont know that much about dsm lol but thanks to everybody that was trying to help
