How much is it?
i wanna drop an Evo engine in my 98 GS. AWD tranny and all. are there any good shops in the tampa area that will do this swap? if so, how much is a guestimation price?
i need an estimation for:
Engine
Tranny and etc;
ECU
Wiring Harness
Well i pretty much need an estimation to the point where my car will be running properly!
LMK if anyone knows. Thanx.

$6,000 according to Sidewinder DSM. Atleast I think thats what my girlfriend told me. The owner there said he could drop in the evo motor for around that price I think. She's on here so if she reads this she can correct me on the price. I forgot all the details. She knows more about it.

I'm sure this has probably been asked before, but what the hell...
Can an SRT-4 Motor swap be performed on a non-turbo eclipse/talon. They already have the N/A 420A motor.
I know the older gen neon guys can pull it off. This may be a cheaper alternative to the Evo motor swap. The 4G63 is the more superior motor, of the two. But that SRT-4 motor is definently not a slouch.
What kind of numbers are you looking to lay down 305DSM? If you're looking at the 300-400hp figure, the SRT motor is more than capable of pulling that off, and the motor is probably considerably less in cost. I guess it would all come down to the ease of installation though. Whichever of the two would swap in easier (less fabrication required), would be what saves you the most money/time/headaches.
Good luck with your future plans.

I have been inquiring about this for a while now. I have been told that there is so much custom fabrication just to get the 4G63 in place where the 420a was that its not worth it. I have decided to stay with the 420a and build that into a beast. If there is that much fab work to be done just to get the 4G63 in there think what you would have to do to make it AWD-tranny, diff, driveshafts, etc. Look up my posts about this-alot of info in there
Now, that $6,000 quote.... was that with the price of all the parts or just labor?

This has been discussed for years now. If you want to do it right and safe minus the headache caused from owning a non turbo car, buy a factory turboed car. Its that simple. You want to be different? Buy a gst/gsx and make it fast and do it right.
Thats the best advice I can give to you. For 6 grand you can pick up a 1g or early 2g AWD and still have a few grand to play around with.
