What is the Amperage?

You do need to upgrade your wiring both the Alt. to Battery wire, and Your Grounds.
You really should have an Optima Battery whether it's Yellow or Red. And the Optima Battery SHOULD have no problems with higher Amperage Alts.

My stock Alternator in my 94 Trans am was 140 amp, It didn't have any battery problems with a regular battery. I though you were talking about one of those 300 amp Alts.
