Default New problems... sorta...

Car still has a slight misfire in lower RPMs, Could be wires or the fact Im still venting and need a bov return tube. Not at the top of my worries...

After changing my oil, filter, and plugs the oil pressure light is staying on. It will go on and off randomly actually. Sometimes it sort of flutters and other times it will just stay on then when I stop it goes away and then comes back on. What could be causing this? Oil pump starting to go? I would like some ideas and things I can check... I am also searching around as I am typing this. Keep in mind this is just from about 2 minutes of driving around my neighborhood. There are no weird noises and the motor is actually pretty quiet.

Good news, tightened the power steering belt so its not being gay anymore.

As always thanks for your help in advance

Also the oil pressure gauge is reading high but its always done that.

I read something about the wires on the housing.

Now after I was driving to go return a core, a belt started sqeaking and then the power steering completely went out. The car started to over heat too... The belt though is still tight. Im baffled now, Ill end up replacing all the betls because Im sure they need it anyway...

Any ideas on this?

One of the sending units could be bad, my 91 used to do that until I replaced it. Or it could just be a loose wire. You can try disconnecting one at a time and see if the light stays off, my 90 doesnt have the front sending unit connected.

check and make sure your pulleys all turn, you could have a bad bearing thats fuckin you up, just for the hell of it, check your power steering fluid too, if it ran dry, that could cause it to burn up....as far as the other problem, the way i have it figured out, is the oil pump on a DSM either works, or it doesnt, but the way they are designed would suggest if it was going to fail or start failing, it would just completely go out and leave you with 0 oil pressure altogether, im not claiming this to be the word of god, but like i said its what the design of the pump suggests, may not be a bad idea to pull off your valve cover and make sure oil is still getting to the head....also if i remember, your car is a 90 with those awesome 90 electronics, which may be contributing..im sure its just something with the electronics, but definitely take all safety measures to make sure everything is good...but ya, dont let your car overheat or im gonna beat your ass

Im pretty sure its just one of the wires, The car just has oil all over the place and its probably just not getting a good ground or something.

As far as the power steering goes, the fluid was the first thing Ive checked. Besides that I havent had any time to check anything else....

And the car never went passed the H mark, although the gauge is a little iffy. Sometimes it just starts to climb and then Ill tap it and it goes back, its wonderful.
