Default Weird Sound

Over the weekend I had a pacesetter header and downpipe installed... it didn't come with a piece... so now pretty much its all straight pipe from downpipe to exhaust... yes its insanely loud... hopefully I don't get pulled over. So I'm driving... 1st and 2nd seem fine... as soon as i'm in 3rd or higher I start hearing rattling noise somewhat like a pinging noise coming from the side of the motor where the timing belt is at. Had my timing checked today and its all fine according to the mechanic. I test drove the car and it didn't make the noise under still cold conditions... as soon as it warmed up and I'm heading home it started doing it on and off. Would a header effect what type of gas I use... is this why it may be pinging? I use mid-grade all the time... do I need to go to 93? Spark plugs and wires were just changed probably about a month ago.

I need to get a datalogger or atleast if someone has one, if I can stop buy and run it to see what codes come up or anything seems out of whack.
