I've run 24 psi on pump gas and the stock 6 bolt bottom end, but I get about 4* of knock when above 22 psi. All supporting mods:
walbro fuel pump
660 injectors
VP FMIC
dsmlink
Hahn Super 16G

I've known a guy to run closer to 29 PSI on a 16G setup with the same supporting mods with C16.

I was running 20 PSI w/ the 14b on the 6 bolt with a walbro, 660s, dsmlink, and the stock SMIC, but I was heat soaking the SMIC. My intake temps were too high and I was getting > 5* of knock and pulling timing. I was a typical summer night in Florida though (hot and sticky).

This would work but if I was you I would not try that high of boost. I can only imagine how much tinig he was pulling and how much he was heat soaking that thing. The Bar and fin intercoolers do get good flow, but remember you have to have your supporting mods. And I can tell you that out of all the supporting mods I bought when I had my GST the worst one I bought was the AFC. My opiniion is tell your friend to keep the intercooler go ahead and get the 16g but dont put it on and start buying supporting mods and then get a DSMlink.... should be good to go after that. Do you have any pics of this intercooler or maybe some more specs of it?

I traded him that intercooler. Its 4rdrwhore's old one from his gvr4 and good for what your friend has until he upgrades. We used a similar core on a gst a long time ago with a 14b,afc,exhaust,wally 255,and clutch and the car went thru a set of nitto drags in 3 weeks and ran 13.7@107 on his first pass ever at a dragstrip.Tune it and max the 14b and then think about upgrading.

I guess now is a good time to finally tell the world what i have. I've been trying to keep it under wraps here goes its not much but still a work in progress and I'm going to list it in more or less the order it was installed too.

Walbro 255 hf with a rewire.
780 injectors and a b&m fuel pressure regulator.
e01 boost controller.
E-manage.
chipped e-prom ecu.
XS power inter-cooler (not exactly sure on the specs but its huge.)
custom 2.5 inch inter-cooler piping.
type R blow-off valve.
GT-30R

still to come a 2g head match ported to a cyclone with some cams and valve springs. cryo treated tranny with LSD and cryo treated axles. oh and AEM.

I may have missed something so John please add to the list I am finally going to put it in my garage.
