where to shift

Default where to shift

honestly i listen to shift in my cars but my dad is driving my talon for now until he can get a car descent on gas but he cant listen to shift because the cars a lil out of the norm for him.what rpm should i tell him to shift? thanks jay

tell him to redline it every time......no j/k i would say aroun 4000-5000

well if he's driving it normally i say shift at like 3500 at the most just half throttling it. Why shift at 4 or 5 unless you like wasting gas

when im normally driving, i shift at 3k other than that, 6 or so if im racing, maybe 7

I shift between 2k and 3k @ 20% - 30% throttle (unless I'm in a hurry or having some fun).

I shift at 3500-4k with around 50 percent throttle unless I'm stuck in traffic or have a reason to drive really slowly. Driving a 7.8:1 turbo car at 2k rpm out of boost defeats the purpose of having a modified sports car, in my opinion. I like having good acceleration around town and I don't really mind a small penalty in gas mileage.

i agree but its my dad hes 50 and has a caddy seville which sucks on gas lol.hes not used to these cars.
