Default BOV question

I have a 1986 mitsu cordia turbo. It has the 4G62T 1.8l. I just hooked up a Greddy BOV and It isnt the kind of sound i wanted. Isee on the BOV there is a threaded part where you can add "tips" to change the sound coming out of it. Anyone have any they would sell or also if you have a turboxs or hks you would trade that would be cool.

What kind of sound did you want? Most BOVs sound wimpy at low boost, which is probably what that Cordia is running stock.

the boost is set at 9psi but it still just doesnt whistle. It sounds more like a wastegate. I was told that is how it is suppose to sound. they said hks and turbo XS RFL are louder and more whistly

The type-s should still make a distinct whistle-whoosh blow-off sound even at 9 psi; umpteen thousand turbo civics running 7 pounds on the greddy kit have proven that. You're right, though- there are valves that make a more recognizable whistling/chirping noise. If that's your thing, the ssqv is pretty weird sounding, IMO. You could give that a shot.

I had a greddy type s on and before my FMIC it sounded like that I dunno I was told it was because the piping was so small and no intercooler

When recirculated, if you want a ricey blow off noise you are going to need to get a metal intake pipe (from filter to turbo). Most people just pick up filter (me).
