headgasket and timing belt question
ok im finally putting my other motor in and im wondering which headgasket and timing belt to use. I was thinking OEM but was wondering id anyone else had any luck with anyting other than OEM. I was planning on running between 15-18 Psi. all help appreciated.
If that's all youll ever run just got stock composite hg, stock head bolts and OEM belt. Plan on running more while you are there might as well just do a Mitsu 4layer with ARP head studs and an OEM timing belt. I would go with an oem timing belt unless you are making over ~600/700whp and then feel the need to worry about the belt stretch affecting timing and then go with the greddy kevlar belt.
also i noticed that in the commonly asked questions, i looked at all the different mitsu turbos and the various outputs at vasrious psi, but what i didnt notice was an TD05H 18g turbo and its outputs. i can figure its somewhere between big 16g and 20g. but was wondering what psi they were effecient up to. i have the forced performance 18g turbo thats ported and clipped and was planning on only running 15-18 psi with RC 550,s-acf2, and a walbro 255, but if i can go more i will.
You can push that turbo to probably 2 bar or so. Might need bigger injectors if you do that though. Also I think your best bet right now is to go with the mitsu 4layer and arp's while you are at it. Especiall with the turbo you have and cabilities.
