Default Problem/Compression results

SO, on Monday, when I was driving home from Brandon, I noticed my engine temp needle was peaked as high as it could go. So I pulled into my place and shut the car off. When I popped the hoood I found coolant all over the tranny and I heard a hissing noise Due to the fact that I am busy and fucking fed up, I let it sit until today. After reading, I figured I had blown a headgasket. So I decided to do a compression test.

While cold:
1: 165
2: 180
3: 170
4: 180

According to vfaq/this board, the compression isn't bad unless there is a 20+ psi diff. So I decided to try to another compression test after it was normal operating temperature.

After letting it idle for a little bit it, it got up to normal operating temp. and sat there. So I decided to go take it for a drive. I took it for a drive an almost the second I put load on, the needle went up. I did see smoke coming from the exhaust manifold/turbo when it was heated but coolant was everywhere, so I figure that it was just burning off. It did not smell like oil. Same hissing noise from before but no coolant spewing from anywhere.

While operating at operating temp:

1:160
2:160
3:165
4:160

???

Help?! Anybody wanna come chill tomorrow. I could really use some help with diagnosing this problem. I'll order pizza! I'm just off fletcher. Give me a call if you wouldn't mind coming and helping me out.

Might be a good chance to test out whether this Mitsu Tech car club idea will work out. Let me know if you can make it.

Did you fill it back up with coolant and check to see where it is leaking form.
You can have a bad headgasket with exhaust over pressurizing the coolant system and forcing cooland out.

See, fill it back up and watch for leaks. Its one of the few ways to diagnose the problem.

Also when talking with Alex, one of the water lines may be going bad on the turbo. We can do it Sunday if you want.

I'm doing it tomorrow, I have no choice. I have to have this figured out before the weekends over whether I have to figure it out alone or not.

Make sure it's not something as simple as a coolant leak or a bad thermostat first. Buy a radiator flush kit, hook it up to a hose and look for leaks. Compression tests aren't always reliable indicators of a blown headgasket, though it seems like there's something funky going on with your compression if it gets lower when the engine is warmed up. I learned this the hard way this week assuming my friend's car had a blown headgasket when pressurizing the cooling system revealed myriad leaks spraying bleeding massive amounts of coolant under pressure. The guys on NABR were quick to point out my error in picking the worst case problem and running with the theory before doing any diagnosis and checking the easy stuff.

I wish I could come help you, but I'm leaving town for two days in about six hours. Sorry.

No problem. I do i have to check for a coolant leak, I've never herad of coolant spraying everywhere when a headgasket is blown. Does that happen? How do I check for abad thermostat?

That was the first thing i checked. That hose is on the driver's side of the motor. This is on the tranny side.
