Upgrade turbo question.
Whats up guys? Question for ya. My Cordia has a TC05, I think its a 14b turbo. (Small.) Im running 11lbs of boost from the stock 6lbs. 12 being the most before fuel shut off. Is it worth upgrading to say a stock eclipse turbo? Would there be more lag due to the larger turbo? Since Im only running 11 lbs of boost, Im I better off staying with the stock turbo?
Thanks...
Thanks...
I think I'll just leave it alone.
I wish there were an easy way to convert to MPFI. This 2 injector system kinda...well... sucks. I dont think the engine would last much longer If I were to bypass the fuel shut off and go crazy with the boost.

Does the cordia have a maf on it? you can hack it if it dose that would put off the fuel cut out.

I was told that I could cut a wire going to the boost sensor that controls the fuel shut off, but doing so will be would not be smart. (Engine may not handle it.) I wanted to cut it, so I can run 12 lbs of boost and if I get a couple more pounds due to a boost spike It would not go into fuel shut off. Not sure how much a 4g62 can handle. (I think thats what my engine is.) Its a 1.8L SOHC turbo engine.
old school mitsubishi motors can take a decent amount of boost, but if you want to boost more there is a standalone made just for our generation mitsu motors with the TBI, and im working on an upgraded TB for it too...if you are have problems with fuel cut you should get a 1g eclipse MAF sensor...and that motor doesn't come with a 14b it's either a 9a, 11a, or 12a....all much smaller than the 14b

I would sell the Mini and get an Electromotive Tec 3, some 1000cc injectors, a custom intake mani, and a GT35R. Then once the motor pops throw a built shortblock in there and some custom cams. Thats my $.02
