Cooling issue
OK, did some more researching and found out that I had the radiator fan motor burn out on me. Replaced it today and now I have normal operating temperatures until I turn the A/C on. If I am sitting at idle without it on, I have normal temps. When I turn the A/C on, the temp gauge goes from normal to about 25% hotter until I start to move, then it cools back down to normal. I also am smelling the coolant while sitting. Checked to see if there were any leaks anywhere and all I have is condensation from the a/c under the car. my guess now is its either the switch or the thermostat itself going bad. Anyone have any other suggestions??
Hmmm, I'd check the thermostat like you said and also, check for ANY small leaks. The hoses tend to get cut after time and start causing problems.

I had the same problem with my 420a back in the day...i had to replace the theromstat...then a week after that i had a pool of coolant under my car cause my radiator blew up....those plastic radiators tend to crack real easily...maybe you should inspect that as well.... just my .02

Well, I think I found the culprit....so far I have changed out the radiator fan motor, checked fuses and bought a new engine coolant sensor and thermostat all to find this....
The hunt is on for a water neck now.
