ive never needed a load leveler for a DSM, in all the engines ive pulled and installed. I just use a longer chain and then adjust which link i lift from.

There's no doubt its doable, but you can't argue for $40 especially on a 2g that the leveler is a nice thing to have.

ohh the story in the clutch disk... the person who i boutght it from got the car and it would not drive... the owner before him smoked the clutch so bad that there was nothin left

I once almost had to resort to that. Fortunately Pep Boys had a sale on engine hoists that weekend.
