***The Team NABR forums is a restricted access resource.

Recently, the policy was changed to accept anyone who wanted to join.

After a while it was determined that this resulted in a dumbing down of the content.

To prevent the forums from turning into another version of DSMTalk or DSMTuners, access was once again restricted.

To gain admission, you must be invited to join by a member in good standing, and that invitation must be approved.

Members will be held responsible for their invites. Admins can decide appropriate punishment if your new guy fucks up.***

All of this especially the last part will make it hard for anyone new to get on NABR anymore.

The member who sends an invite also has to be an established member with over 250 posts. Only there are only two people on this board other then Tom and myself(of which neither of us have 250 posts) who are NABR members and I don't see them vouching for anyone, no offense personally. This is kind of one of those things where if you have to ask the answer is probably no. Sorry.

What I don't get is....why not make the forums publically viewable? From what I've heard it is an absolute goldmine for anything you'd ever need too know about DSM's. The whole place just seems to elitist and self-serving.

No offense 25psi but this is the exact reason why NABR is private and "elite". There is public use of the dsm tech archives and you can find it on the main page if you look around enough. Most likely if you can't even find something like that, you wouldn't make it past 5 posts on nabr. Why should private information btwn people who spend money, time, heart and sweat be made for just anyone in the public to view? What have you done to earn that? One of the other reasons it is private is for protection of products and information from people who are out looking to copy someone and sell it cheap and make a quick dollar off it and say fuck the people who put the RnD in into a product.

On a side note. Why not try being more active in a message board that has stature and is based on dsm's. If you become a well known member on TBDSM and people see you know what you are doing and it would benifit all of the dsm community and NABR for you to be on there, then someone will invite you.

I just found it easily, I never bothered to look in the 1st place. The "search" button is a friend to me on all forums.

See thats just the thing, I enjoy reading and contribute where I can. Theres a few ways to get smarter, by reading and actually applying them goes a long way. Oh well then, I never thought DSMers would become elitists...
