Question overdrive not engaging?

ok im buying a 91 tsi awd from my mom for very cheap (less than 90k miles) but the overdrive dosent engage when its supposed to,i was told it was possibaly a vacuum hose that fell off or some thing like that.i was the one that caused it by ACCIDENTALLY hitting the OD button and turning it off at around 90-100 mph so any ideas on what it is and how to fix it? cuse im going to conneticut to get it and want to make sure its going to make it back.thanks-keith

Whats wrong with that. Toms auto awd kicked ass with the little mods he had done, and it was clean as hell. If his mom doesnt drive like mine, its still probably in alot better condition than most other 1g's. They arent that much fun on the streets, but a built auto will take you far on the track.

Was it? Any case, it still kicked ass for minor mods.

Yes my auto was fwd.
If it was awd it would have been quicker in the 1/4 than it was.
If i tried to build to much boost at the line it would blow the tires away.
There is nothing wrong with a automatic.
They can be made fast very easily and with out alot of money.
I miss that car.
