Though a "dogged out" car is much more prone to problems, including crankwalk, a meticulously cared for 2nd gen, is not impervious to a walking crankshaft.
As xgstguyx stated, go 6 bolt and lay your crankwalk worries to rest. Though ANY motor can crankwalk, the 6 bolt does not have the crankwalk issue, that many of the 7 bolts are plagued with.
