I need a shop or someone in Lakeland that can work on my DSM. I mean....actually know what they are doing and not rip me off. It probably needs a crank kit. It has new rings, oil pump, rods, bearings (haha) and the balance shaft elimination. Anyone willing to tackle it??? Any ideas??


And my saga....
In November, my timing belt snapped. I put a used head on but it was running on 3 cylinders. I took my car to a shop in early December for work on the bottom end. I finally got to pick the car up February 15. I drove it to work that Wednesday and the belts were squealing and the radio was cutting out; the three dash lights were on (battery, brake & alternator). I drove it to work on that Friday with the same problems. The voltage on the turbo timer was reading 17.8.

Saturday, February 19, I had the chance to look at the car and I could automatically see a whole bunch of problems. The valve cover was not tightened enough and there was about a quart to much oil and it was leaking everywhere. The bracket to the fuse box and the battery tie down were missing. The throttle cable was not secure and actually came loose. There were also miscellaneous clamps that were not placed back into their proper place or tight enough. The power steering belt was loose and breaking; I had to replace that. The tranny was not grounded and was causing to much power. The battery was leaking battery acid from having all the power to it.....which caused it to start eating some of the cables and paint. I had to buy new power wire to re-do the grounds. There were scratches on the drivers side of the front bumper where it appears the car was run up into something. There were also two new cracks in the fiberglass by the headlight.

After arguing with the dude for a week they finally sent a tow truck for it (Feb 25?). Said that I spun a rod bearing and that it would take a week for parts. I tried to pick it up Monday, April 4th and didn't even make it 1.5 miles down the road before it started knocking again!!! I turned around to take it back and the dude dipped out and I haven't talked to him since and his shop is closed. We will be going to court. I talked to the landlord and he said I could leave the car on his property. I also talked to the neighbor who said he would do the work for me if I wanted.

Well Thursday night dick mechanic boy decides to hire a tow truck. Told the guy that if the car wasn't towed it would be impounded on Friday. Well at 2:15am Friday morning a tow truck shows up with my broken PITA. Since the dick mechanic didn't have the keys anymore, it wasn't in neutral and the tires locked up. The car fell off the flat bed onto it's nose. Completly destroyed the front bumper!! I also got some mysterious prank calls about 2 hours later. I haven't gotten a prank call in years. Wanted to know where I was and said he got my number the only place dick mechanic boy knows I've been. Gee, could the two be related??? The only working number I have for him is his fathers cell phone. He won't talk to me anymore, just hangs up or doesn't answer.

So my car doesn't run and still managed to get wrecked. It's sitting in my yard totally worthless. On top of all this, I've probably lost out on my sponsorships that I had in the works. I NEED THE CAR FIXED!!!

Someone have pity on me please!!!

id love to help but its a long long drive from here... im sure there is someone in lakeland what will help you... id be willing to help you if you dont find anyone.

 

There's a good amount of Lakeland and Plant City guys on the boards. Hopefully they can atleast point me to someone.
