What kind of oils are you guys using in your tranny, motor, t-case and differential? I got a 92 Tsi AWD with 129K. Any suggestions?

 

transfer case API GL-4 or higher SAE 75W-90 or 75W-85W
2.0L Eng
0.63 QTS.
same for the trans
diff API GL-5 or higher
2.0L Eng
0.74 QTS.

 

use Mobil 1 synthetic, for the tranny use BG Syncro shift, t-case use Redline any 80-90 gear oil will work really, hope this helps

 

what about the rear diff, what would u guys use there

ummm...i just use whatever 10-W30 motor oil the car wash has....happens to be penzoil at A+ (intersection of hills and countryway) 20 bucks for complete wash inside and out plus oil and filter...hit me up if you need the coupon...otherwise it´s 25.95 or something...i´m mechanically inept perhaps i shouldn´t own a dsm then....

 

How is the BG Syncroshift? I've heard positive and negative things about it. The positive of course being smoother shifting, the negative (according to what I read somewhere), is it supposedly "swells" the synchros.

I've heard really good things about GM Syncrhomesh for our car's trannies as well.

 

For the tranny and t-case I use Pennzoil Synchromesh and for the motor Mobil 1 10w-30.

 

motor oil = royal purple 10-w30

 

have u guys had any expirience with red line oils
